Dr. Ubirajara Barroso Jr. had the honor of participating in and being decorated as a founding member of the Mexican Society of Pediatric Urology, during the specialty's first congress, which took place in February.

Dr. Ubirajara Barroso Jr. took part in the live stream "Is amputation of the organ always necessary for penile cancer? How is it possible to recover sexual function?" on the Instagram page of Portal da Urologia, the official profile of the Brazilian Society of Urology for laypeople, in February.

We'll be talking about Incontinence and Sexuality in Bladder Extrophy, and presenting the results of a study carried out by CEDIMI - the Center for Micturition Studies in Childhood, at the Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health, in conjunction with Napex.

On National Trans Visibility Day, January 29, Dr. Ubirajara Barroso Jr. took part in an interview on the subject on the Band Mulher program.

Our pediatric urology and urethrogenital reconstruction training program at the Prof. Edgard Santos University Hospital has trained urologists from all over Brazil.
It was the first program to be created and is the longest-running. We are delighted with this new accreditation.

Our group, CEDIMI, presented 11 papers at the International Children's Continence Society congress. Our students presented in English in front of the world's leading experts.
The confidence of our students and the skill with which they presented their work, not only with great confidence, but also communicating impeccably in English, was a consensus. I'm very happy to see professors, former fellows and current students in this photo, who have made and are making history. It's a feeling of pride that I can't describe.

Today I searched for some photos sent to me by friends from the 39th Brazilian Congress of Urology, which I had the honor of chairing. A moment of sweet remembrance of this event that I hope fulfilled the expectations of Brazil's urologists.
It took two years of hard work to ensure that the program was top-notch and that there were no substantial flaws. I now have that pleasant feeling of having done my duty.
Many thanks to everyone who helped with the congress, especially the departments and the board of directors, represented by President Alfredo.

Dr. Ubirajara Barroso took part in the IV Congress of the Professor Edgard Santos University Hospital - HUPES. On the occasion, he spoke about urological surgery in the transsexualizing process.

"Honored to be invited to coordinate the Department of Gender Affirmative Genital Surgery and Genital Aesthetics of the Brazilian Society of Urology in the 2024/2025 term," says Dr. Ubirajara.

Last week, Dr. Ubirajara Barroso received a plaque for his visit as a visiting professor at Louisiana State University. A gesture of affection from Joe Ortenberg and his group.

Dr. Ubirajara Barroso gave an interview to Metrópole radio in which he spoke about bedwetting and the enuresis alarm, the Soluu device, which he is one of the creators of.

"It was an honor to take part in the Congress celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Portuguese Urology Association in Coimbra. I'm happy to see the Brazilian Society of Urology getting closer and closer to our sister society," says Dr. Ubirajara.

It was a great joy to take part in the event commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Hospital de Clínicas in Porto Alegre. A magnificent event, expertly organized by friend and professor Tiago Rosito.

An excellent event coordinated by Drs. Carlos D'Ancona, Cássio Riccetto, Fernando Almeida, Carlos Truzzi and Carlos Souza. As a highlight of this session, we discussed that the appendix is the best conduit for abdominal catheterization; that it should preferably be implanted in the umbilical scar and in a way that it is not visible; that complications of the catheterization conduit can be treated; and that the best bladder enlargement technique is the ileum, but that the sigmoid is advantageous in some situations. Thank you for the honorable invitation.

In the Band Mulher program, Dr. Ubirajara Barroso talks about gender affirmative surgery being a constitutional right.

Dr. Ubirajara Barroso and his team performed the first sex reassignment surgery through the SUS in Bahia at the Professor Edgard Santos University Hospital - HUPES.

Dr. Ubirajara Barroso participates in a meeting with surgeons and representatives of the Ministry of Health to discuss training and standardization of surgical techniques for affirmative genital surgery on transgender people, through the SUS.

Dr. Ubirajara Barroso coordinates the room with the theme Transsexuality: The role of the urologist in evaluation, treatment and follow-up in the SBU at home.
